UPDATE: Spirit Photography/Beaters CA dates

Edit: Many thanks to DJ Rick and the Vichy Water crew for helping to set up a last-minute Sacramento show. We'll be playing with Beaters and VW at 27th and V. Thanks so much for figuring it out, gents, we look forward to playing with you!

So it's looking more like what was going to be three awesome days will only be two awesome days. Trying to get a Sacramento show around this time was the best/worst idea, as everything revolves around the Davis/Sacto colleges and their finals schedules, etc. Many thanks to DJ Rick for trying to work things out, and maybe it'll still happen, but we'll see.

As of right now, here's what we have:

Dec. 19--Matinee show @ the Knockout in SF w/ Spirit Photography, Beaters, Ty Segall (One-man band show!)

Dec. 19--Locos Only Oakland house party w/Spirit Photography, Beaters, Uzi Rash Group Band, A minus B

Dec. 20--Part Times Punks @ the Echo in LA w/Spirit Photography, Beaters, Savage Republic (last show ever!)

Early 2010 for Volar

First, I'd like to say congrats to some close buds of mine who've done well this year between their bands and labels. You know who you are, and it's nice to see everyone doing so well.

I wanted to take this time to talk a little bit about what's coming in the early part of the 2010 for Volar Records. Things have been going well so far, and I want to thank all the mailorder customers, stores, distros, bands, and especially my friends who've helped me when I've needed it. This one-man operation can be a little tough and stressful at times, but in the end I'm happy to be a part of a community of like-minded folks and artists.

Volar's next release will be a long-in-gestation 4-way 7" split between Sharp Ends (Canada), O Voids (Canada), Spirit Photography (the band I play in here in San Diego), and Ale Mania (close friends here in San Diego). The idea for this 7", and the birth of Volar Records, came from Spirit Photography and Sharp Ends, who w…

Christmas Island attack LA

Tomorrow night we play a show at the Prospector in Long Beach w/Two Tears (ex-Red Aunts, Beehive & the Barracudas) and Tijuana Panthers, then on Friday you can catch us at a big house party in Highland Park, Los Angeles, 622 N. Ave 54, 90042 with our buds in Woah Hunx, Cowabunga Babes, and the great Le Face.

New Record Time

The Ratas del Vaticano "Chido" 7" EP and the Ale Mania "Lustful Fistful" 7" both start shipping next Monday. For those who don't know, Ratas is a pretty amazing punk band out of Monterrey, Mexico, whose Mocosos Pateticos LP was released earlier this year on the distinguished Siltbreeze Records. If you happen to be near Mexico, you can catch them this Friday playing with Vivian Girls.

I'm also incredibly proud to be releasing the debut 7" by Ale Mania, the brainchild of Andrew Montoya and Jeremy Rojas of the Sess and Beaters. Two incredible tracks here, "Lustful Fistful" and "Vomit Pig," which you can check out here. They'll have another 7" in the near future on Hell Yes! Records out of Italy, and a split with Beaters as well.

Also, looks like we'll be pressing a limited to 300 color run of the Beaters "Fishage" 7". Beaters also has the "White Hate" 7" due out soon on Zoo Music,…
